Shōsuke Komi

"Komi-kun Doesn't Need Communication."

Shōko's younger brother. He is the vice class president in his first year at Kisei High School and later in his second year. Usually, his eyes are hidden by his hair, but he is a handsome guy who resembles his sister. He is intelligent and excels in both academics and sports, inheriting his father's many talents. Since he could do everything by himself from a young age, he developed a personality that prefers solitude and doesn't require others' help. Like his sister, he is taciturn, but unlike her, it's not that he can't speak; he simply doesn't want to, though he can converse when necessary. He is inherently kind, often helping others and showing consideration for his sister and father. He also frequently finds himself unable to refuse requests or meddling.

In his first high school class, he ended up sitting next to Hitohito Tadano, who is strong in communication, and was approached out of goodwill by Tadano, who noticed Shōsuke's communication disorder, forcing him to interact with others at school. He recognizes Tadano, who is undeterred by his cold responses and steps in, as "troublesome," and although he finds it difficult, he has lost the will to resist. On the other hand, Tadano's meddling helps compensate for his lack of necessary social skills for school life, and he is recommended by Tadano to become the vice class president. He is popular at school but doesn't have a girlfriend. Since Hitohito and Shōko started dating, he has been treated as a younger brother by Tadano one-sidedly.
