Tengen Uzui

Tengen Uzui, the Sound Pillar, uses the "Sound Breathing" technique. At 23 years old, he is known for his flamboyant appearance, complete with a jewel-studded headband and makeup around his left eye, and often uses the word "flashy" as his catchphrase. He calls himself the "God of Festivals" and, despite his very handsome face, he dislikes his "plain" appearance and uses makeup to create a more striking look. He has three wives: Suma, Makio, and Hinatsuru. Tengen is a key character in the Entertainment District Arc.

His weapons are two broad Nichirin blades connected by a chain, which he wraps in a thin cloth when not in combat. He also uses explosive bombs as auxiliary weapons. Among the Hashira, he ranks second in physical strength and arm power. Despite his large build, as a former ninja, he possesses exceptional agility and stealth, making him the most nimble among the Hashira, and he has a high resistance to poison. Tengen has excellent hearing (a derivative of Thunder, which Zenitsu uses). He can convert the rhythm of an enemy's movements into sound, allowing him to grasp their habits and blind spots through a unique combat calculation method he calls "Musical Score," enabling him to handle even the toughest opponents. Born into a ninja family, he lost many siblings due to the harsh training imposed by his father, who was desperate to keep the ninja way alive. His wives were also treated as mere "tools" as kunoichi. Rejecting his father, he left the ninja path, met Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and found a place in the Demon Slayer Corps.

During the Hashira Trial, he initially advocated for Tanjirou's execution but is fundamentally a generous and kind-hearted person. He genuinely cares for the safety of his wives and easily accepted Tanjirou's plea to protect Kanzaki at the Butterfly Mansion from being forcibly taken on a mission. Although he claims to be unremarkable among the Hashira, he played a key role in defeating an Upper Rank demon for the first time in 113 years.

In the Yoshiwara Entertainment District, he fought against the Upper Rank Six demons, Daki and Gyutaro, losing his left eye and arm and being severely poisoned by their Blood Demon Art. Nezuko's Blood Demon Art saved him from the poison, but his injuries were severe, leading to his retirement from the Hashira.

As a Hashira, he was responsible for the first trial of improving basic physical strength, rigorously training the corps members. After retiring, he let his hair down, removed his headband, and switched to wearing an eyepatch adorned with the same jewels and a casual kimono. During the battle at the Infinity Castle, he protected Kagaya Ubuyashiki alongside the former Flame Pillar, Shinjurou Rengoku.
