His name and voice actor are revealed in episode 21, after being unnamed for nearly a whole season.
It is in this episode that Mayu is mistaken for being Yuki Nekoyashiki's cousin, thanks to Kitsunezaki asking about it.
Drama Club Recruitment
At lunch, Kitsunezaki and Kurihara try to recruit Yuki Nekoyashiki for the drama club.
Yuki, however, firmly refuses, saying she won’t join unless Mayu joins too, leaving Kitsunezaki and Kurihara in tears.
Persistent Recruitment Attempts
In episode 41, Kitsunezaki and Kurihara try once again to get Yuki to join.
They close the classroom curtains, bring in spotlights, and put on a dramatic recruiting performance.
Yuki quickly shuts them down again, leading to a big comedic scene where all the club members are disappointed, but Kitsunezaki still looks forward to the next try, excited to try a musical next time.
Even though Kitsunezaki has “tanuki” (raccoon dog) in his name, he is neither cunning nor especially round.
He has no special connection to any famous video games or game developers in movies.
