The first person Kirito met in the officially launched SAO. As of October 18, 2024, he is 24 years old. He is a drinking buddy both in the real world and in the game world. With a face like a wild samurai, he often serves as comic relief, but in reality, he is a friendly and reliable young man. In the real world, he works for a small import company, and after returning from SAO, he resumed his job, working diligently despite complaining about his boss.

He is a skilled and experienced net gamer, having established the guild "Fuurinkazan" with friends from before SAO. He has a close, almost inseparable relationship with Kirito, acting as an ally to Kirito and his friends. In SAO, he stood on the front lines as part of the clearing group, participated in the battle against Laughing Coffin with Kirito, was the first to realize that "Death Gun" in GGO was a surviving member of Laughing Coffin, led the charge of Japanese players to Asuna's aid in UW, and in UR, he joined Kirito's group with Agil, saving them at a critical moment.

He is portrayed as someone who immediately flirts with beautiful women and idol-like figures, making strong advances on Asuna in SAO and fawning over YUNA in OS. As a result, the female members of the party do not trust him at all in terms of chastity. During the Excalibur quest in ALO, he released a beautiful NPC from prison against everyone's objections, which led to the quest's success, but he was heavily criticized afterward.
