Hanza

Hanza leads the Koga group in service to Mochizuki Domain.

He is portrayed as a capable superior who commands his men during a mission tied to a deadly epidemic.

When the group prepares to head in full force to a village said to have been wiped out by disease, he initially tries to leave Kagero behind.

Even so, she joins the mission of her own will, suggesting that Hanza does have some concern for her safety.

Hanza is involved in the operation surrounding the mysterious plague-stricken village.

His actions place him among the early figures drawn into the violent events of Ninja Scroll.

His concern for Kagero is limited but noticeable.

Rather than pure coldness, he shows a practical form of protectiveness, even if he cannot stop her from following the group.

Hanza later challenges Tessai in combat.

The fight ends brutally when Tessai tears off both of Hanza's arms.

His death becomes even more horrific afterward.

With his eyes and mouth sealed shut, he is used by Zakuro as the ignition source for explosives and is blown apart.
