Shiranui

Shiranui is a young boy with only one arm.

He often appears at the cape, usually by the water's edge, where he controls his sharks.

He is strange and distant, showing little attachment to other humans.

Shiranui believes sharks are better than people and seems to trust only his shark companions.

His heart is shaped by sadness, loneliness, and a twisted sense of who is more important—humans or sharks.

A flashback reveals that Shiranui watched his mother die and turn into a mummy when he was a child.

This traumatic experience changed his view of the world.

He began to believe that humans are weak, while sharks are strong and worthy of loyalty.

Shiranui is skilled at handling and taming sharks—he controls two sharks named Jiroumaru and Saburoumaru.

He is also clever at tricking people into dangerous situations, especially near the water.

The Cape and the Search for a Boat

Shiranui meets Itachi and his group when they look for a boat to cross to the cape for Hibukuro's hidden gold.

He offers to help, but his real goal is much darker.

The Sharks and the Arm

Shiranui has raised Jiroumaru and Saburoumaru as pets.

He willingly gave his own arm to them as food.

Ever since, the sharks have developed a taste for human flesh.

He keeps feeding people to them, always bringing new victims.

The Trap

Shiranui lures many of Itachi’s men onto boats, taking them offshore.

While at sea, he releases the sharks, making them attack and eat half of Itachi's group.

Loss and Revenge

While waiting for the sharks to get hungry again, Shiranui leaves Saburoumaru to keep watch.

But the remaining men kill Saburoumaru.

Angry and hurt, Shiranui is nearly killed by Itachi and his men, but Dororo begs them to spare his life.

Final Destruction

Filled with grief and anger from losing both sharks, Shiranui decides to take revenge on everyone—including Daigo's soldiers, who had nothing to do with his pain.

He sets off a huge explosion with gunpowder, causing a landslide and dying in the process.

His closest bonds are with his sharks, Jiroumaru and Saburoumaru.

He feels little connection to other humans and sees most people as little more than food for his shark friends.
