The police sergeant is the oldest and most trusted member of the First Unit. He is partnered with Miwa Makitaka, and both his work ethic and abilities are highly regarded not only by Tamotsu Hōjō but also by the Deputy Captain. Nakadomi refers to him as an experienced all-rounder, and during the Shiotani barricade incident, he was considered the top candidate to lead the entry team.

He is married and the father of three boys. Later, with the birth of a daughter named Seika, he becomes the father of four children.

After the resolution of the sexual assault case in Machiyama City, he left Machiyama Police Station together with Hōjō, and it is said that he never returned to duty as a detective after that.
