Airi Sakura

A timid female student who dislikes standing out. She possesses excellent looks and proportions, but due to her hunched posture and tendency to look down, few people notice, and she acts as a plain girl. Her lack of communication skills with others has been a concern even before she became a high school student, which is the reason she is in Class D. In the entertainment world, she is active as a gravure idol named Shizuku. Since all contact between students and the outside world is prohibited, her idol activities are on hold while she is in school, but the internet is not included in this restriction, so she continues her activities by posting images online. After being helped by Kiyotaka and Ichinose from a stalker incident, she has developed feelings for Kiyotaka. In Volume 6 of the first-year arc, she becomes a member of the "Ayanokōji Group." The group members call each other by their first names, as suggested by Haruka.

Character Design

Kinugasa wanted to break the jinx that wearing glasses is a no-go, so he added glasses. Additionally, Tomose wanted to make her appearance flashy, such as her hair color, to contrast her plain and shy character.

Voice Acting and Role Preparation

M・A・O, who plays the role of Airi Sakura, received instructions to "keep her cuteness while portraying her as shy," and she reflected on how she "was able to express the gradual change in her ability to speak up, despite her personality making it difficult to articulate or speak strongly."

Merchandise

From October 14 to October 31, 2017, a special fair celebrating Airi Sakura's birthday (October 15) called "Welcome to the Airi Sakura Supremacy Corner" was held at all Gamers stores and Gamers Online, where products such as body pillow covers, tapestries, and T-shirts were sold. In March 2018, a "1/7 scale figure of Airi Sakura changing clothes" was released.
