Chiyo tries to appear calm and proper. People think she's a rich girl who doesn't know much about the real world, but that's not the truth.

She keeps her family and past a secret, so her classmates make guesses about her background.

Chiyo is actually quite clueless and isn’t very book-smart.

She is very wary because her brother hunts her, and as a result, she has an instinct for sensing danger.

She has a strong professional side when it comes to being a ninja — she puts in a real effort if she needs to act as one.

Chiyo doesn’t like men very much and is suspicious of them.

Even though teachers like her, it is only because of her polite manners; her grades are only saved with help from her friends.

Chiyo was once part of a ninja clan.

She came to Kashihara Girls’ Academy with the mission to assassinate someone from the school.

However, after seeing the school’s mascot, Masukuma, she fell in love with it and quit her job as a ninja spy, becoming a “runaway ninja.”

This led her clan to send assassins after her, especially her twin brother Hanzō, who is always targeting her—even at school.

Chiyo always wanted a regular girl's life.

Because she never shared anything about her home life, everyone around her started treating her like a refined lady.

Her last name, Nanashino, was given to her by her ninja teacher because "ninjas don’t need names," turning her into "no name" (Nanashi).

Chiyo has exceptional reflexes and can sense danger, especially because she’s often attacked by her brother.

She always manages to avoid his ambushes and defeat him.

She hides her ninja skills, but when she needs to, she will act just like a real ninja.

Daily Life at Kashihara Girls’ Academy

Chiyo is living as a second-year student, enjoying a peaceful school life with her friends Rikka, Sekine, and Tsubasa.

Secret Ninja Mission

Originally, Chiyo enrolled at the academy with a secret mission from her ninja clan—to eliminate someone connected to the school.

However, after seeing Masukuma the mascot, she abandoned her mission and chose to stay at the school as a regular student.

Turning her back on the clan made her a target, especially for her twin brother Hanzō, who frequently attacks her at school.

No matter where they are, Hanzō tries to catch her, but Chiyo always defeats him or escapes.

Hiding Her Secret

At school, no one knows Chiyo is a ninja.

She wants a normal life and avoids talking about her past or family.

Because of this, her classmates treat her as a noble lady.

Sekine, who can read women’s minds, figures out much of Chiyo’s real background, though she keeps it to herself.

Chiyo is surprised by Sekine’s sometimes violent or serious thoughts but also feels cared for when Sekine worries about her.

School Challenges

Chiyo is popular with teachers for her good manners, but she is terrible at every subject except PE.

Her friends Sekine and Tsubasa often help her avoid failing her classes.
