Rei

With a fiercely independent approach to life, Rei's mind is a treasure trove of useful knowledge. He follows his own set of values and beliefs, and will do just about anything to achieve his goals... Despite his relaxed, carefree exterior, his essence has a tendency to go haywire, bringing with it excruciating pain.

Rei is 180cm tall. He has ashen grey hair of which the underside is dark grey as well as a single big strand at the center of his bangs. Additionally, he has a few light grey strands on the sides that are usually combed back and he has small light green eyes with slitted pupils that dilate when he's excited.

His Spinel Gemstone is on his right ear. He has a slit in his left eyebrow and a total of four known beauty marks, the most notable ones being on the right side below his mouth and the underside of his right pec. The remaining two are in more intimate places and therefore usually remain hidden. The complexion of his skin is unusually light in comparison to that of other characters.

Rei has a very curious mind, making him willing to go to great lengths — sometimes even dangerous and harmful ones — to satisfy his desire for knowledge. He's extremely intelligent and usually knows the answer to whatever question he's confronted with. When he doesn't, he either comes up with the solution on the spot, or immediately starts investigating, gaining the needed information in a matter of days. His living space tends to appear extremely messy, but according to him, everything has its place and is in perfect order. Because of this, he gets upset when someone moves his belongings. He is very honest and blunt about what he thinks and puts his research about essence and gemstones above almost everything.

Deep down, Rei holds his own sets of convictions and beliefs.

Rei's special skills include hiding, research, enchantments, alchemy (pharmacy), gemstone studies, and magic studies. He likes useful things, bird ornaments, musical instruments, and musical boxes.

Rei's erogenous zones are moles, and his favourite place in Aster's mansion are places to put collectables. Rei has no particular spot he starts washing when he showers.

Most of his past is currently shrouded in mystery but it is known that Rei was once part of the Royal Family as a prince. He had an older brother who would read stories to him, and he cared dearly for his mother. Rei is plagued with a strange illness that caused feathers to sprout all over his body. It seems that striking a deal with Father has allowed him to extend his lifespan beyond a regular human's.

Rei was part of a group called The Council of Sorcery which was a group that wanted to regulate the Altars without the need of the Grand Sorcerer. The group was started by his mother who was also the head of the council. He used the name Zero when he was part of the group. However, he left due to a "difference in opinion".

While attempting to fix the abnormality with the Water Gemstone, he meets the new Grand Sorcerer Eiden who seeks to achieve the same goals as him...
