Character Setting

Edit

Misha Takanashi is the main character of "UzaMaid!". She is a beautiful 2nd-grade girl with Russian heritage, known for her platinum hair, jade green eyes, and fair skin. Even though her looks catch people’s attention, she actually hates standing out and prefers to stay indoors. After losing her mother, she now lives with her stepfather, Yasuhiro Takanashi, with whom she shares no blood relation. Misha is smart, a bit rough in her speech, and very skilled with computers and online games. Despite her struggles with grief, loneliness, and not fitting in because of her appearance, Misha slowly learns to open up and smile again, partly thanks to the strange but caring maid, Tsubame Kamoi, and her new friends. She loves animals and dreams of working with them in the future.

Misha Takanashi stands out with her stunning looks.

She has platinum-colored hair, emerald green eyes, and skin as smooth as porcelain.

Everyone notices her because of her appearance, but she finds it exhausting to be stared at so much.

Many people say she looks like a “snow fairy,” and the maid Tsubame Kamoi once fell in love with her at first sight.

Although Misha looks cute and graceful, her personality is a mix of delicate and rough.

She is very indoor-oriented, preferring to stay inside and play games rather than go out.

Misha can speak harshly, especially to Tsubame Kamoi, whom she doesn’t even call by name because of her weird behavior.

She is smart and even talks about serious things, but sometimes still acts like a typical young kid, especially when delicious food is around.

Misha is very sensitive, struggles with losing her mom, and sometimes finds life with new people stressful.

Misha was born to a Russian artist, Artur Anatolyevich Fokin, and a Japanese mother, Elena.

However, her real father did not know about her or her mother's death.

Her mother later married Yasuhiro Takanashi, making him Misha’s legal father, but they have no blood relationship.

After her mom’s death, Misha disliked all the housekeepers Yasuhiro hired.

She pushed them away by doing things like burning laundry, except for Tsubame Kamoi, who never gave up and won her over with great cooking.

Misha only accepts Tsubame’s presence for her food and still keeps her mother’s room sealed off to preserve her memory.

Misha is very talented with technology—she can use smartphones, computers, and is great at online games.

In the online game "YONAOSHI GUILD," she plays under the name "Kumagorou" and pretends to be a 42-year-old housewife.

She has also developed a unique ability to communicate with animals.

Her favorite hobby is caring for her pets, including a ferret named Kumagorou and three hamsters: Daikichi, Chuukichi, and Shoukichi.

She’s good at thinking things through and even wrote a super detailed essay about her life goals at school.

Misha’s closest family now is Yasuhiro Takanashi, her stepfather, though she calls him by name, not "Dad."

She fiercely misses her mother and tries to preserve her memory by keeping her room untouched.

She eventually grows close to Tsubame Kamoi, though their relationship starts off rocky because of Tsubame’s odd and clingy behavior.

She is also friends with classmates like Mimika Washizaki, her first real friend whom she nicknamed "Washi Washi."

Other important friends are Yui Morikawa (who always wants to challenge her), Midori Ukai (an older but wise friend, called "Midorin"), and Hiyoko Torinai, a transfer student who wears a panda suit because of social anxiety.

When Misha learns she has a half-sister named Alvina, she is nervous at first but later feels sibling affection.

Hard Childhood after Losing Her Mom

Misha loses her mother, the person she loves most.

Yasuhiro Takanashi does his best to care for her, but is often busy with work.

Misha becomes lonely and grows to dislike every housekeeper, even going so far as to chase them away with trouble-making, like setting fire to laundry.

Meeting Tsubame Kamoi

One day, Tsubame Kamoi is hired as the new maid.

Tsubame is not scared by Misha’s pranks and stays despite all the trouble.

Her delicious cooking finally makes Misha give up on trying to chase her away.

Struggles with School Life

Misha hated going to school because everyone paid attention to her only for her looks.

She became a shut-in after her mother died, but during her mother's illness, Yasuhiro convinced her to keep going by saying, “If you act like a good girl, your mother will get better.”

Change Thanks to Tsubame

Misha is weirded out by Tsubame’s clingy and sometimes creepy actions, but soon realizes that going to school would be better than being around Tsubame all day.

This helps her overcome her school refusal.

Opening Up with Friends and New Experiences

After returning to school, Misha forms new friendships.

She becomes close to Mimika Washizaki and others, bringing friends to her home for the first time.

Her personality becomes brighter, and she starts trying new things, like camping and hiking because of Tsubame’s influence.

Animal Lover and Pet Adventures

Misha talks to her pets and is so good with animals she seems to understand them.

She even takes care of more animals at school and helps solve a hamster overpopulation problem with help from classmates.

Facing Family Revelations

She eventually discovers her birth father is Artur Anatolyevich Fokin, a famous author, and even meets a half-sister, Alvina.

Though nervous at first, Misha begins to accept her new family.

Academic Growth

Misha is skilled at languages—she speaks Russian fluently and uses advanced vocabulary.

Her detailed dreams include being financially independent, working with animals, and living in a safe house to avoid Tsubame.

She studies hard, improves her grades, and eventually gets into a veterinary college.

  • Misha’s name comes from her mother’s favorite anime bear character.
  • Misha is sometimes mistaken for a boy because "Misha" is a boy’s nickname in Russian, but she insists that’s just her name.
  • She likes weirdly cute things, like a strange fairy mascot called "Murina."
  • Misha enjoys computer games, especially “Like a Sea Urchin,” and is a fan of the artist Artur Fokin—even before learning he was her father.

  • "If being around Tsubame all day is this annoying, maybe going to school is smarter."
  • "I want to work with animals, be independent, and live in a super safe house."

Misha doesn’t have the best habits—she dreams of doing no chores and playing games all day, but realizes she needs to change to stay safe from Tsubame.

She becomes more mature and hopeful as she learns new things and makes more friends.
