Isuzu Souma

Isuzu Souma is a girl with a stunning, almost bewitching presence. She has long black hair that reaches to her legs at first, but later in the story, she cuts it short to about shoulder length. Isuzu has sharp black eyes and a very attractive figure, making her look mature and mysterious. She gives off an aura that keeps people at a distance.

Rin is quiet, secretive, and often pushes people away. She feels uncomfortable relying on others and fears getting them hurt because of her own troubles. She is sensitive and keeps a lot of pain inside. Even though she seems cold, she deeply cares about certain people and is very brave in her actions. Drawing is one of her secret hobbies, though she is shy about showing her sketches to others.

Isuzu grew up thinking her family was perfect. Her parents always smiled and seemed kind, making her believe she was one of the lucky few among the Zodiac members. However, one day, Isuzu casually asked if things were really happy at home. This question shattered the fake happiness, and her parents, who had only been pretending, started treating her cruelly. This sudden change left a deep mark on her heart.

Later, after her abuse was discovered, she was taken in by Kagura Souma’s family. Being around their intact, loving home made her feel both jealous and lonely, and she struggled with her feelings, often going in and out of the hospital.

Isuzu has a close but complicated connection with Hatsuharu Souma, who found her when she was suffering and helped her. They became a couple, sharing a strong and deep bond. However, their relationship was not easy, as both struggled with their own traumas and how much they relied on each other.

She also keeps her distance from Tooru Honda but feels kindness and warmth from her, reminding Isuzu of Hatsuharu’s gentleness. Isuzu is afraid of making Tooru's life harder by tying her down with her own problems.

The Downfall of Her Family

Isuzu’s life started with happiness, but one simple question she asked at home made everything fall apart. Her parents started to abuse her because their fake smiles were exposed. She lost her safe home and suffered alone until Hatsuharu Souma found her collapsed.

Her Relationship with Hatsuharu Souma

After being found by Hatsuharu, Isuzu began dating him, and they became very close. But their relationship was discovered by Akito Souma, who became angry and pushed Isuzu out a window. She was badly hurt and felt guilty for being so dependent on Hatsuharu. Wanting to free him from their painful situation, she pushed him away and began looking for a way to break the Zodiac curse.

Searching for a Way to Break the Curse

Later, Isuzu was approached by Ren Souma, Akito’s mother. Ren promised to teach her how to break the Zodiac curse if Isuzu stole a special box from Akito’s room. Isuzu accepted and sneaked into Akito's room, but she got caught. Akito was upset by Isuzu’s long, black hair—which looked just like Ren’s—so Akito cut off Isuzu's hair.

After that, Isuzu was locked in a storage building used to imprison the Cat of the Zodiac. She refused to eat the food given to her, so by the time Kureno Souma found her, she was very weak.

Realization and Recovery

After being rescued, Shigure Souma told Isuzu that Ren did not really know how to break the curse and had only used her. Isuzu realized how quickly she had acted and how dangerous it was to get involved in the Souma family’s secrets. She felt regret, but these events helped her grow stronger. Isuzu and Hatsuharu eventually understood each other's feelings and got back together. She now lives at Kazuma Souma's house.
