Endou

Endou initially pretends to be Shino Asada’s friend but actually uses her for convenience and status.

She serves as a minor yet impactful antagonist in Shino’s school life, driving much of Shino’s social isolation and trauma.

Endou is manipulative and opportunistic, forming a clique of followers around her.

She shows little empathy, casually exploiting others if it benefits her or maintains her image.

She has a vindictive streak, retaliating harshly when someone resists her control.

Her actions toward Shino are driven by a mix of dominance, malice, and a desire to keep a convenient target under her thumb.

At the start of high school, Endou calls Shino a “friend” and brings her own entourage to Shino’s room.

In reality, she treats Shino’s room as a hangout spot and a place to smoke, ignoring Shino’s discomfort.

When Shino finally pushes back and refuses to go along, Endou turns hostile.

She investigates Shino’s past armed robbery incident, uncovers the truth, and then spreads it around the school.

This rumor campaign isolates Shino from her peers, making her a social outcast.

Endou takes advantage of Shino’s trauma with guns, repeatedly extorting money from her by threatening to trigger that fear.

By exposing Shino’s involvement in the past robbery incident, Endou directly causes Shino’s loneliness at school.

Her actions also indirectly affect Kyouji Shinkawa, who learns about the incident and develops a twisted admiration for Shino.

Endou’s exploitation of Shino’s gun-related trauma keeps Shino psychologically trapped even after the incident.

She represents the real-world cruelty and bullying that Shino faces outside the virtual world.

After the “Death Gun incident,” Shino begins to confront and overcome her fear of firearms.

When Endou tries to continue exploiting her, Shino turns a model gun on Endou, symbolically reversing their power dynamic.

Endou is intimidated and driven off, losing her ability to control or extort Shino anymore.

This encounter marks a turning point where Shino stops being a passive victim of Endou’s abuse.
