Riō Sonidori

The son of Shinichirō Sonidori. 12 years old. His rank is the same as Inori's, 5th class (as of the summer training camp). He usually wears glasses but takes them off during competitions.

He hasn't been able to land a triple jump, so he hasn't made it to the novice podium yet. However, he placed 8th in the novice category two years ago and was selected for the novice class training camp, which is a gateway for top athletes, indicating he has considerable potential. Despite this, he is pessimistic about his own talent and feels pressure and a twisted sense of inferiority due to his privileged position as the "son of an Olympic athlete" and the presence of Hikaru, who quickly rose to become the novice queen, as well as Jun Yodaka, who coached her.

Perhaps because of this, he has been struggling to improve and, due to his strong desire to change his environment, he participates in the summer training camp of Lux Higashiyama FSC, where Inori and Tsukasa belong.

He was harsh or cold towards Tsukasa before opening up, but on the other hand, he is very close to Sota Inukai and Hikaru Kamisaki, often following them around or taking care of them, showing a significant difference in his approach depending on the person. He is verbally harsh to those he doesn't trust, having called Yodaka "old geezer," Inori "ugly fried shrimp," and Miki "stupid dumbo octopus head." When he insulted Inori, he was slapped by an angry Hikaru.

He generally doesn't trust adults, and in other words, he is hungry for recognition as himself, not as the "son of an Olympic silver medalist." When Tsukasa acknowledged his jump as "different from your father's" and praised him, he didn't know how to react and quietly panicked. Later, he was impressed by Tsukasa's skating demonstration and became unusually attached to him.
