Yusaku Kitamura

Class 2-C. The class representative, vice president of the student council, and captain of the boys' softball team. With his glasses and extremely serious demeanor, along with his refreshing appearance and slightly offbeat behavior, he is affectionately nicknamed "Maruo" by the girls in the class, resembling Maruo-kun from "Chibi Maruko-chan." He has high athletic ability and a somewhat optimistic personality. Throughout the story, there are frequent depictions of him exposing his skin in public, leading some boys to consider him a nudist. Additionally, although he is unaware of it, he has a slightly foolish side. Despite it being against school rules, he possesses a motorcycle license. He has a college-aged brother.

He has been Ryuji's close friend since their first year, and at the beginning of their advancement, he was one of the few who understood Ryuji, who was feared due to his appearance. He once confessed to Taiga but was rejected. Since then, he had no connection with Taiga until he received a confession from her, after which he began to see her as an important friend.
