Misaki Okusawa is a high school girl known as the "Voice of Reason Among the Bears." She is the DJ for the band Hello, Happy World! and is a member of the tennis club at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School. Misaki often finds herself dragged into unusual situations, usually involving wild classmates. She is thoughtful, hardworking, and has a close bond with her little sister. Misaki was unexpectedly recruited into her band after wearing the mascot costume "Michelle," which led to a humorous and sometimes confusing double life. Though she once had doubts about her role, Misaki has since chosen to support her friends and perform on stage, both in costume and as herself.

Misaki is hardworking, sensible, and the voice of reason in her friend group.
She often feels troubled by the unpredictable actions of those around her but cares deeply for her friends.
She has a shy side, especially when caught up in the chaotic energy of her bandmates.
Misaki is very thoughtful, especially when it comes to her family and close friends.
Misaki works part-time jobs, including dressing up as "Michelle," the mascot of a shopping street.
One day, Kokoro Tsurumaki found Misaki in the mascot suit and insisted she join the band Hello, Happy World!
Misaki confessed her true identity as Michelle to Kanon Matsubara, but the other members still see Michelle and Misaki as separate people, making things awkward and funny.
Kokoro, Hagumi Kitazawa, and Kaoru Seta believe there are six band members, counting Michelle as her own person.
Misaki is responsible for creating songs and lyrics for Hello, Happy World!
She takes ideas from Kokoro’s drawings and humming, and then turns them into lyrics and music.
Misaki often handles all band arrangements, performances, and songwriting.
Misaki gets along well with Kanon Matsubara, the only one who knows her secret from the start.
She is good friends with Arisa Ichigaya, bonding over how both have to manage unpredictable friends (Kasumi Toyama for Arisa and Kokoro for Misaki).
She often ends up calling Rimi Ushigome and other same-year girls by their first names, showing their closeness.
Misaki also tried to invite Kasumi Toyama to join Hello, Happy World!, seeing how she gets along with Kokoro.
Becoming a Band Member
Misaki started working as Michelle, the shopping street mascot, just for a part-time job.
Kokoro found her while in the costume and brought her into the band, even though Misaki did not intend to join.
After joining, she told Kanon Matsubara about her secret identity, but no one else understood that Misaki and Michelle were the same person.
As a result, Misaki always performs as Michelle, but most members don’t know it’s actually her inside the suit.
Accepting Her Role
Misaki often felt upset because she handled all songs, live shows, and arrangements but only Michelle was seen by everyone.
She sometimes wished she could just be herself in the band.
One day, the members told her, “It’s thanks to Misaki that Hello, Happy World! exists,” which made her realize how important she is to the group.
Finally, she decided to truly support Hello, Happy World! as both herself and Michelle.
Standing on Stage as Herself
During the Garupa event “To Those Who Depart,” the story of Misaki taking the stage as herself for Hello, Happy World! is told.
Starting on March 16, 2023, with the sixth anniversary update, players could finally play as Misaki—not just as Michelle.
Misaki’s hobby is making felted wool items, especially gifts for her younger sister.
Her favorite food is diner food; she dislikes coriander.
When wearing the Michelle suit outside work, she instinctively hides when she sees children.
Lisa Imai once compared Misaki’s way of organizing the group’s ideas to making pudding.
“In our group, Kokoro usually says something nobody understands, Hagumi follows up with something else nobody gets, Kaoru says it’s ‘melancholic,’ Kanon just says ‘oh no,’ and then I have to figure it all out.”
Misaki is used to being Michelle so much that seeing kids nearby makes her want to hide—even when she’s not working.
She is always looking out for her little sister and enjoys creative hobbies.
