Kenjirō Shibazaki

A detective of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. He was once a skilled detective in the First Investigation Division, but when he expanded the investigation into the accidental death of a ruling party member's secretary to include Mamiya, a leader of the ruling party, he incurred Mamiya's wrath and was demoted to the Document Division. He was quick to sense an ominous feeling from the first video posted by Sphinx and also quickly deduced from the answer to the second riddle posted by Sphinx that the bomb was planted at the Roppongi Police Station. This incident led to his reinstatement in the First Investigation Division, but during the incident at Haneda Airport, he angered Hive and was placed on indefinite leave. Even after that, he independently investigated the Shinshin Peace Academy and the truth of the incident, becoming aware of the existence of Souta Aoki and Shunzou Mamiya. In the end, he appeared at the site of the former facility where Sphinx was once held, and after uncovering Sphinx's true intentions, he attempted to arrest them but was attacked by the U.S. military. Twelve was killed, and Nine also died, resulting in his inability to arrest Nine and Twelve. However, during this time, Nine entrusted him with the bomb's detonator. Notably, the U.S. military intended to keep Shibazaki alive from the start. Later, there is a scene where he holds a press conference with Kurahashi and others. He is married and has a daughter, Haruka, from whom he learned knowledge of science and engineering for the investigation of the Sphinx incident. He is fond of Pon de Ring.
