Nobara Kugisaki

The heroine of this work. A first-year student at the Metropolitan Curse Technical College and a Grade 3 sorcerer. She hails from what she calls a "godforsaken countryside that takes four hours to reach from Morioka." She is about 160 cm tall and was born on August 7, 2002.

She enrolled at the Curse Technical College at the same time as Itadori, although her admission had been decided beforehand. While she harbors a strong longing for Tokyo (the city), she despises her rural hometown because a girl named Saori, who transferred from Tokyo when she was in first grade, was driven out by the villagers' jealousy.

She has a straightforward personality, is quick to use harsh words, and is quick to act, as seen when she kicks Itadori despite him being a novice and warning her that curses are dangerous. On the other hand, she shows kindness by throwing away her weapon to save a boy taken hostage by a cursed spirit and naturally trying to help a delinquent from a juvenile detention center. She has a strong sense of identity and is bold enough to pick a fight even when unarmed and caught off guard by an opponent.

She uses a technique called "Straw Doll Cursed Technique" where she embeds her cursed energy into nails to attack her opponents, causing damage to the original body by embedding nails into a missing part of the target with "Resonance," or directly destroying the target with "Hairpin." Her weapons include five-inch nails, a hammer (a squeaky hammer during exchange events), and occasionally a straw doll. She is not adept at close combat.

Since enrolling in the Curse Technical College, she enjoys shopping in Tokyo whenever she has free time.

During an encounter with the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings in Saitama, she experiences a Black Flash.

On October 31, 2018, during the Shibuya Incident, she heads to Shibuya with Maki and Naobito but separates to evacuate Akihito Nitta to a safe place when they lose contact with Ijichi. She fights with Haruta Shigemo and is saved by Nanami, who informs her that Gojo has been sealed. Despite being advised against entering the combat zone, she returns alone after handing over Nitta to the medics. She gains the upper hand against a clone of Mahito but is then touched by the real Mahito, causing her left cheek to be blown off in front of Itadori. She later receives first aid from Nitta, who arrives with Todo to assist, but her life or death status remains unclear.
