Uchiki is a sentient artifact spirit whose body is composed of multiple overlapping layers, like stacked robes.

He operates in the same line of work as Aogi, handling information-gathering and related duties.

Uchiki is a special-class tsukumogami, meaning he differs from ordinary artifact spirits in power and structure.

His origin lies in a luxurious twelve-layer ceremonial garment, and that layered structure defines both his body and abilities.

Each part of his body is made of superimposed “sheets” or layers rather than ordinary flesh.

These layers can be reduced or increased in number, changing his outward appearance dramatically.

Uchiki’s layered body grants him unusual resistance to sealing techniques.

Even when targeted by powerful sealing arts that ordinarily suppress eyes or perception, only the topmost single layer of his form can be sealed at one time.

Because of this, sealing him completely is extremely difficult unless all layers are addressed in succession.

This makes him notably resilient compared with many other spirits and tsukumogami.

Uchiki’s appearance changes depending on how many layers of his robe-like body are active.

When all twelve layers are present, he looks like a heavily built, muscular man, giving off a strong and imposing impression.

When his form is reduced to around three or four layers, his silhouette becomes much slimmer and more delicate.
