A fifth grader and the object of Kaho's affections. He is 10 years old, but looks significantly older. Although he mostly behaves his age, he at times shows mature behavior, passed on from his deceased mother who serves as his role model.
Kanade is a handsome fair-skinned boy with unkempt and scruffy white hair that probably has pink highlights, indigo eyes and a little band-aid can be seen on his right knee.
His outfit is usually a white hoodie. He wears blue shorts along with a white shirt underneath, a paper is stuck on the front, "5-1", white knee-high socks and pale white sneakers. He is often wearing his gym uniform.
Kanade has the looks of a highschooler or even older. He is tall and has a slender figure.
Kanade is a kind, generous, and openhearted and caring person, who cares for Kaho Nikaidō the first he met her he saved her from a moving truck chasing after a thing her brother gave her. Very aware of strangers.
Before the start of the series, Kanade used to look up to his mother as a role model. However, after his mother died 2 years ago, he became quite a handful for his widowed father.
He is first introduced when he rescues Kaho Nikaidō from a moving vehicle and proceeds to scold her for being reckless. As he walks away, she asks for his name but he refuses to say he isn't supposed to give his name to strangers and proceeds to call her creepy. After Kaho had moved into the dorm, he returns and she confesses her feelings for him from her room. He tells her they could date if she wanted but only after knowing his secret and asks her to meet him downstairs the next day at 8 am if she wanted to know. The following day as he is wearing his shoes, she comes and he reveals that he is in the 5th grade and asks if she still wants to date him, in which she says yes and he says that she is now his girlfriend.
