Hotaru Yūyami

The protagonist of this work. A horror picture book author with 10 years of experience. Single. The same age as Komako and Tsubaki. Lost his parents at a young age, and the grandfather who took him in and raised him also passed away when he was a university student. He found solace in "Hanako," the dog his grandfather owned. Aspiring to become a picture book author to convey the feeling of "love" that he couldn't express enough to his parents to many people. After Hanako died of illness, he lost the motivation for work and life in general, but one day he encounters "Kinokoinu," who suddenly appeared from the garden. He appears holding Kinokoinu in a background panel of the second volume of "Kumika no Mikaku," serialized in "Monthly Comic Ryu."
