The leader of the guild and a curved sword user. In the original work, he condemns Kirito emotionally, directly causing him to be labeled as a "Beater." After Diavel's death, he takes over as the faction leader and establishes the guild. He has a strong attachment to Diavel, even dyeing his avatar's hair the same color as Diavel's.

While he usually tries to act like a leader similar to Diavel during strategy meetings and other occasions, there are many scenes where he suppresses intense emotions, making him a character in contrast to Kibaou. Kirito acknowledges Lind but assesses that it is difficult for him to replace Diavel.

In the anime version, he changes his weapon to a two-handed sword during the SAO arc and changes his hair to a crest-like blonde. When the Holy Dragon Alliance pursues Kirito for rare items, he leads the forces along with Shivata and Yamata, and can be seen acting as a trio in various scenes.
