Kurojou

黑尉 黒尉（くろじょう）

Aoiya employee. Usually called "Kuro." He has a large build and short hair. He wields a gauntlet shuriken. Like Han'nya and Misao, he is a practitioner of the Oniwabanshū-style martial arts and has the skill to easily handle elite-level soldiers under Shishio. In the first anime series, he reappears in the Black Knights arc. He assists Kenshin and others in fighting the Sanada Ninja Army alongside Misao and Shiro, but is forced to withdraw from the battle after being injured. In the revised edition of Volume 22: The color of his headband is changed to black, and the end of the headband hangs down the left side of his face. His hair on the top of his head is permed, giving him a more carefree appearance.
