Miwa's grandfather. Chairman and representative director of Kurushima Industries and Hotel Cardinal. He was the fourth generation of a kaiseki ryokan in Yokosuka, but as an excellent businessman, he significantly developed the ryokan. However, as the management of Japanese inns became increasingly difficult, he clashed with his son (Miwa's father) who advocated for the hotelization of the ryokan, leading to a complete estrangement. Two and a half years later, after his son and daughter-in-law died in an accident, he took in the young Miwa and raised her while growing Kurushima Industries into one of the leading hotel groups. He was very fond of Ryuu's cocktail flavors, observational skills, and strong service spirit, and had been scheming to headhunt him to Hotel Cardinal, a plan that eventually comes to fruition.
