Taizo Kurushima is the chairman of Kurushima Industries and the main owner of Hotel Cardinal. He is known for his sharp business sense and for turning his family's small inn into a huge hotel group. He once argued with his own son about the future of the business, leading to a long family break. After losing his son and daughter-in-law in an accident, he raised his granddaughter, Miwa Kurushima. He takes a great interest in Ryuu Sasakura and eventually brings him to Hotel Cardinal.
