Maria Sashide

Maria Sashide was born in Saitama, Japan, in 1998.

From a young age, she was heavily influenced by her mother’s love of anime.

This early exposure sparked a curiosity about the world of voice acting.

Originally, she aspired to become a stage actress, enjoying the energy of live performance.

However, after being told her voice was unique, Maria began to consider a career as a voice actress.

She attended high school while participating in voice acting auditions and later honed her craft at A&G Academy.

Sashide made her first splash in 2015 by advancing to the finals of the Chain Chronicle Character Voice Audition while still a student.

She officially joined the voice agency WITH LINE in April 2016.

Her major breakthrough came with roles such as Emma Verde in *Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club*, Hana Shirasaki in *Wataten!*, and Mai Inose in *Asteroid in Love*.

She continued to diversify by playing characters in series such as *Kiratto Pri☆Chan*, *D4DJ*, *Beast Tamer*, and *Yuru Camp△ SEASON3*.

In addition to anime, she has voiced characters in popular games, including *Uma Musume Pretty Derby* as North Flight, *Magia Record*, and multiple *Love Live!* games.

Her voice can also be heard in several radio programs, including her own show, as well as regular roles in drama CDs and digital comics.

Maria graduated from university in March 2021, continuing to juggle her studies and voice acting career.

Sashide's contributions have not gone unnoticed.

In 2023, as a member of the *Nijigasaki High School Idol Club*, she won the Best Singing Award at the 17th Seiyu Awards.

Her radio show *Maria Sashide no Sashidegamashii you desu ga* won the Best Comfort Radio Award at the 8th Aniraji Awards, solidifying her presence not just in anime, but also in radio broadcasting.

Sashide is very close to her family, particularly her older sister, who affectionately calls her "Umi-chan."

Her older sister sometimes composes original songs that Maria enjoys singing.

Maria is known for being extremely shy, admitting it can take her 2–3 years to open up to someone new.

Nonetheless, she's also described as earnest and optimistic.

She loves animals and keeps cats at home.

She even has a special talent for mimicking realistic cat sounds!

Her interests include singing, vocal music, jazz and tap dance, and playing the piano.

She enjoys idol groups such as Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46, and Hello! Project.

She is unafraid of reptiles and lists custard pudding as her favorite dish to make.
