Enako

Enako, born January 22, 1994, in Nagoya, started her passion for anime in early teens, especially inspired by titles like "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" and "Rozen Maiden."

Introduced to cosplay by a friend in middle school, she quickly became a notable figure in the cosplay community.

Her stage name comes from her previous handle "Minazuki Erina," shortened over time to "Enako" simply because it sounded cute.

Enako made her cosplay debut in 2008 and originally joined the idol group "Panache!" in 2012.

The group—comprised of fellow cosplayers—was short-lived, but helped her gain national attention.

After a brief hiatus following Panache!'s breakup, she returned to the scene driven by fan enthusiasm.

Her career blossomed through frequent appearances at events like Comiket, World Cosplay Summit, and major industry expos, often surrounded by crowds of photographers.

She gradually transitioned to gravure modeling, becoming the cover model for numerous manga and entertainment magazines, setting records for magazine cover appearances.

Enako is a variety program staple, with regular TV appearances and her own radio/TV shows. She joined the agency PP Enterprise in 2019 and started working in close partnership with Platinum Production.

In 2020, she was appointed a Cool Japan Ambassador by the Japanese government, further cementing her role in promoting Japanese pop culture.

Enako also built a strong digital presence, launching a YouTube channel in 2021 and a Twitch channel in 2023, where she streams cosplay, gaming, and chats.

She has also ventured into music, releasing singles and mini-albums, and even appearing as a voice actress in anime like "Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!" and "Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister!"

Enako has received numerous accolades throughout her dynamic career.

Enako publicly announced her relationship with Kenki, a professional gamer and leader in the esports scene, in July 2021.

She enjoys video games and cites "Pokémon Red" as her first gaming experience; she’s even demonstrated advanced skills in rhythm games on live broadcasts.

When it comes to her finances, Enako has notably described impressive earnings, especially during major convention events where her self-produced photobooks can sell tremendously well.

She emphasizes, however, that costume and production costs are self-funded, often making these large profits less lucrative upon closer inspection.

She likes pink, is famously "rainy-day cursed" with important event days often falling on bad weather, and values being with people who understand her interests.

Her dream wedding would take place somewhere warm, like Guam or Hawaii.
