Risa Tsumugi is a talented Japanese voice actress, DJ, rapper, and singer born in 1996 in Kanagawa Prefecture but raised in Okinawa. She became widely recognized for her energetic and playful personality, earning her the nickname "Tsumutsumu." Risa has made a strong impact in both anime and music scenes, playing key roles in popular multimedia projects and captivating fans with her confident stage presence. As an active artist since 2018, Risa continues to charm audiences with her unique blend of vocal talent and dynamic performances on and off stage.

Risa Tsumugi was born in Kanagawa Prefecture and raised in Okinawa.

Known for her fluency in both English and Okinawa dialect, she also has skills in tennis and track and field.

Her hobbies include visiting shrines and temples, collecting stamp seals, and drawing illustrations.

Her ambition to become a voice actress began after watching videos featuring Aya Hirano.

She attended Human Academy (Okinawa branch) during high school.

After moving to Tokyo for university, she found her way into voice acting while studying law.

Risa got her big break in 2017 after passing the Hibiki Newcomer Voice Actor Project, joining the Hibiki agency.

Her first named anime role was Yuzuki Yukimura in "Aikatsu Friends!"

In 2018, she joined the band unit RAISE A SUILEN as the DJ "ChuChu" for the BanG Dream! franchise.

She also voiced main characters such as Fina in "Bermuda Triangle: Colorful Pastrale," and Tazusa Ando in "Assault Lily Bouquet."

Risa’s talent extends to gaming, with signature roles like Saki Izumo in "D4DJ Groovy Mix" and ChuChu in "BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!"

Her voice can be heard in a variety of projects, from anime TV series and films to popular games and stage performances.

Aside from voice acting, she has actively dropped digital singles under her own name and participated heavily in unit songs.

Her career transitions included moving from Hibiki to JeAC, then affiliating with Mitt Management from August 2024, becoming a full member by October 2024.

Risa was previously married to composer Tomonori Honda from October 2022.

The couple amicably divorced in September 2023.

She graduated from a law faculty, demonstrating both academic and creative sides.

As an only child, she often reflects on her individuality.

She credits senior voice actors and friends such as Tomori Kusunoki and Hinaki Yano from her former agency for inspiring her career.

Her passion for music led her to DJing, using Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX2 and TORAIZ SP-16 as her main performance gear.

Risa is known for her infectious energy, love of classic karaoke (notably May’n’s “Diamond Crevasse"), and her fascination for shrine-hopping and collecting shrine stamps.

Risa was a contestant in singing and acting from an early age.

She is renowned for her humor, quick wit, and occasional wild antics, gaining the playful moniker “RAS’s Crazy One.”

During her career, she has frequently collaborated with other prominent anime and game franchises such as "Assault Lily," "Revue Starlight," and "D4DJ."

Many fans admire her fearless approach to both performance and variety show appearances.

She suffered an on-stage injury in January 2022 but stunned fans with her prompt return and resilience.

She has made multiple live action TV appearances and narrations, and regularly interacts with fans through YouTube, radio programs, and talk shows.

Risa has also appeared in reading and vocal theater, further showing her versatility as a performer.

In 2021, she released a digital photobook titled "Tsumuto," giving fans a unique look behind her multifaceted public persona.

Her “Voice Actor Card Collection” trading card set and regular DJ performances keep her deeply connected with her ever-growing fanbase.
