A Condition Called Love

In her first year of high school, Hotaru Hinase and her friend Kyochan witness Hananoi-kun breaking up with a girl at a cafe. Later, when she offers an umbrella to Hananoi sitting alone on a chair in the snow, it leads to him confessing his feelings, and they start dating on a trial basis. They create a "Wish List Notebook" to fulfill each other's desires and hold hands for the first time. After experiencing events like Christmas Eve and the first shrine visit of the New Year, Hotaru comes to understand love on their way back from a movie date. In the third term of her first year, Hotaru starts working part-time at a bookstore three times a week, where she reunites with Yao, a friend from elementary school. Hotaru and Hananoi-kun, who began dating for real after their trial relationship, gradually grow closer.
