Koyomi Kanou

Yuu's friend. A first-year female student at Toumi East High School, approximately 150 centimeters tall. She does not wear a ribbon with her uniform and dislikes wearing skirts outside of her uniform. She excels in both humanities and sciences. A bookworm aspiring to be a writer, she usually has a low energy level but becomes enthusiastic when discussing her favorite authors. After asking Yuu to evaluate her own novel, she ends up writing the script for the student council play. Her script, developed from the perfect image of Touko she heard from Yuu and others, closely resembles Touko's current situation, albeit in an extreme manner, causing Touko to be fearful after reading it. She participates in the student council play's training camp and feels something is off about the script's ending. After receiving feedback from Yuu post-camp, she revises the ending, which receives high praise from everyone except Touko. She admires a writer named Renma Hayashi, and her writing is influenced by this author. At a long-awaited signing event, she attempts to converse but is too shocked to speak upon discovering Renma Hayashi is a woman. Through email exchanges with Maki, she realizes her dream is not just to meet Renma Hayashi but to become a writer and converse with her again, leading her to seriously pursue a writing career. Later, she wins a newcomer award, albeit a lower one, marking her first step toward becoming a novelist. In the final episode, she is on the verge of her writing debut but appears exhausted due to being in the middle of writing her next work and the anxiety over whether it will sell before its release.
