Louis Valentin

Louis Valentin is one of the Three Lords under Demon Lord Luminous Valentine, acting as her foremost subordinate and public representative.

On the surface, he serves as the Pope and highest authority of the Holy Empire of Ruberios, enforcing the faith in Luminous as a god and managing the theocratic regime.

He was originally one and the same being as his younger twin Roy Valentin.

Because his original personality was excessively violent and dangerous, his power and soul were split into two individuals by Luminous, creating the “twin brothers” Louis and Roy.

For centuries, Louis and Roy played scripted roles as enemies: one as a Demon Lord, the other as the holy Pope.

By staging this “conflict,” they maintained the authority and structure of the Luminous Church, stabilizing its rule over Ruberios and its believers.

After Roy’s death, the divided power that had once been split between them returns to Louis.

This causes him to regain his original might and become a complete being once more, restoring his former, overwhelming strength.

In Volume 11 of the light novel, Louis directly confronts Laplace after Laplace infiltrates Ruberios again.

At this point, Louis faces him not only as a pope, but as a fully restored upper vampire with his true power awakened.

Louis is calm, dignified, and authoritative when acting as Pope, fully embodying the role of a holy ruler.

He speaks in a commanding, almost regal manner, making it clear that he stands above ordinary mortals.

He openly declares his status and that of Luminous, emphasizing the divine hierarchy that sustains Ruberios.

A typical introduction from him is along the lines of: “Stand down. I am Pope Louis, and this is our god, Luminous.”

Beneath that composed exterior, however, lies the originally ferocious nature that once made him too dangerous to exist as a single entity.

The split into Louis and Roy suppressed that savagery for centuries, but once his powers reunite, his true, fearsome presence resurfaces.

Even so, he remains absolutely loyal to Luminous Valentine.

Everything he does—whether as a holy leader or as a terrifying vampire—is in service of her glory and protection of her realm.

Louis is an upper vampire, a high-ranked member of the vampire race with immense physical and magical power.

His lifespan stretches well over 1,500 years, during which he has continuously supported Luminous’s rule and religious influence.

Originally, his power was so great and unstable that it needed to be divided into two people—Louis and Roy Valentin.

This division allowed each to control half of the original might, with Roy acting as Demon Lord and Louis as Pope.

After Roy Valentin’s death, the split power returns to Louis, restoring him to his complete form.

This “complete Louis” regains the overwhelming combat capability and presence that had once been feared even by allies.

As Pope, he is also a strategic and political actor, not just a fighter.

He understands how to use religious authority, fear, and awe to keep the Holy Empire of Ruberios and the Luminous Church firmly under control.

Louis Valentin is a direct subordinate of Demon Lord Luminous Valentine and one of her Three Lords.

Within this inner circle, he is both a trusted enforcer and the public face of her divinity.

He is the elder twin brother of Roy Valentin, who was originally part of the same being as Louis.

Their relationship is complex, defined less by ordinary sibling bonds and more by their shared origin as fragments of one powerful entity.

Together, they orchestrated a long-term act in which Roy played the role of a Demon Lord and Louis played the role of the holy Pope.

This staged opposition between “demon” and “church” became a political tool to sustain the dominance of Luminous’s faith.

Louis is also deeply connected to the Holy Empire of Ruberios as its supreme leader.

Every major decision of the state and the church ultimately comes under his authority, whether spiritually, politically, or militarily.

Over 1,500 years, Louis has maintained the outward image of a stable, unaging Pope.

This continuity reinforces the belief that Luminous is a true god and that Ruberios is under her eternal protection.

The turning point in his existence comes with the death of Roy Valentin.

Roy’s demise ends the long-standing dual existence and allows Louis to reclaim all of their original power.

As a result, Louis becomes a “complete” upper vampire again, with power on par with or surpassing his old self before the split.

This dramatically shifts the balance of strength around Luminous and the Holy Empire.

In the events of Volume 11, Laplace infiltrates Ruberios once more.

Louis confronts Laplace directly, showcasing both his authority as Pope and his restored might as a fully powered vampire.
