Peeps

The other protagonist of this work is a Java Sparrow that can understand and speak human language. Its true identity is a wizard reincarnated from another world, whose real name is "Piercarlo." In his previous life, he was known as the "Sage of the Stars."

After dying as Piercarlo, he reincarnated in the real world as a Java Sparrow, retaining his previous life's memories and human intelligence, and met Sasaki. The name "Peeps" was given by Sasaki after hearing the name "Piercarlo" (although he insists on being called "Piercarlo," he does not resist being called "Peeps" and will introduce himself as such if necessary). Sasaki and Peeps formed a contract, which allowed them to travel between the other world and the real world.

Peeps wields powerful and diverse magic and can freely travel between worlds. However, the Java Sparrow's body cannot withstand the immense magical power, so Sasaki's help is needed to perform great magic, and using it alone repeatedly causes his body to gradually deteriorate.

He generally hides the fact that he is Piercarlo and behaves like an ordinary Java Sparrow, but occasionally, his ability to speak is accidentally revealed due to falling into an opponent's trap or his own slip-ups.

Despite being a Java Sparrow, he has a preference for meat, especially Kobe beef Chateaubriand, which is his favorite. In the anime version, every scene where Peeps eats meat includes a caption that says, "Do not feed meat to Java Sparrows that have not reincarnated as a sage."

The author is conscious of skillfully depicting the reciprocal relationship between Sasaki and Peeps.

The star design on Peeps' chest is different in the original work, manga, and anime versions.
