Run

Run is a beautiful young man who carries himself with a quiet and composed impression.

He is perpetually calm and collected, possessing a gentle and soft-spoken demeanor.

His actions and words are always guided by a sharp intellect.

Before joining the Jaegers, Run was a teacher in a small, peaceful village renowned for its safety.

His life was shattered when all of his students were brutally murdered while he was away.

The incident was covered up to protect the village's reputation, which fueled Run's resolve to act.

He joined the Jaegers to change the nation from the inside and to find and exact revenge on the clown-like man (later revealed to be Champ) responsible for the massacre.

Run wields the Teigu, Grand Chariot Mastema, which grants him a pair of wings for flight.

His ultimate technique, "God's Wings," allows him to reflect an opponent's attacks.

Manga Storyline

After the formation of Wild Hunt, Run infiltrated the group to get close to them and find his target.

He acted when he heard Wave had fought Syura, joining Kurome to confront Wild Hunt that same night.

Run isolated Champ for a one-on-one battle, successfully disabling him with Mastema's attacks.

He then used herbal knowledge learned from Esdeath to torture Champ for his crimes.

He had to rush to save Kurome from an ambush by Enshin and Cosmina, but a still-living Champ dealt Run a fatal wound.

Hearing Champ recount the murders of his students, Run rose one last time in a rage.

He used his trump card, "God's Wings," to reflect Champ's "Orbs of Fire" back at him, killing Champ by immolation and achieving his revenge.

Gravely wounded, Run used his last strength to escape before collapsing.

In his final moments, Run gave Kurome a message for Wave, lamenting his failure to change the country that had broken her.

He was then transformed into a corpse doll by Kurome's Teigu, Yatsufusa.

Even as a corpse doll, he acted as a mediator between Wave and Kurome.

During the final duel between Akame and Kurome, he shielded Kurome from Akame's attack and led Wave to the fight.

After Yatsufusa was destroyed, his body returned to a normal corpse and was buried by Wave.

Anime Storyline

In the anime adaptation, Wild Hunt's other members do not exist, so Run has no personal history with Champ.

His motivation for joining the military was changed to reforming the unjust Empire that covered up the massacre of his students.

Although his ultimate goal aligns with Night Raid, he despises their "extreme actions."

During the revolutionary uprising, he confronted Leone and revealed his past, prompting her to wryly call him "one of us."

Their battle was interrupted by the Emperor's rampage, and they cooperated to save civilians.

Run survived the revolution and became a civil official, helping to rebuild the nation from within the Imperial Capital.
