Jiwu

Jiwu holds the ninth position among the single-digit Numbered operatives, an elite group of assassins.

She is originally affiliated with Damrada’s organization and is later deeply involved with the Empire.

She becomes a companion of Honjou Masayuki after Barney joins him.

Together with Masayuki and his group, she visits the monster nation of the Tempest Federation in volume 9 and ends up staying there.

Although Jiwu and Barney are both ordered by Damrada to protect Masayuki, neither of them knows the other’s true identity.

This mutual secrecy adds tension and irony to their relationship within Masayuki’s entourage.

Jiwu is a powerful spirit magic user, specializing in magic-based combat.

Her primary fighting style relies on refined use of spirit magic rather than brute force.

Through the delegated authority of Rudra’s “proxy rights,” she gains a special ability that allows her to completely conceal her own powers.

This same granted authority also gives her enough offensive power to potentially kill Rimuru Tempest.

Her combination of perfect concealment and lethal attack power makes her extremely dangerous, especially for surprise attacks.

Because of this, she is selected by the Empire as a key asset in assassination operations.

Attempted Assassination of Rimuru Tempest

In volume 13, acting on an order from Kondo, Jiwu launches a surprise attack on Rimuru Tempest.

She attempts to assassinate Rimuru using her hidden authority and overwhelming strike.

However, her assassination attempt fails.

Chloe Aubert intervenes in the battle and defeats Jiwu.

After being defeated, Jiwu is resurrected outside the labyrinth together with Barney.

They attempt to return to the Empire, but they are killed by Diablo before they can escape.

Later, Jiwu is resurrected once again by Rimuru Tempest, although she loses the powers she once held through Rudra’s proxy authority.

Among the single-digit Numbered, only Jiwu and Barney ultimately survive this series of deadly events.

Activities in the Tempest Federation

Jiwu first arrives in the Tempest Federation in volume 9 alongside Honjou Masayuki and his companions.

She remains in Tempest, integrating into the broader cast while still secretly fulfilling her protective mission.

Even after her assassination attempt and subsequent revival by Rimuru, she stays connected to Masayuki’s group.

Her role gradually shifts from hidden killer to visible ally.

Support During Masayuki’s Crisis

In volume 16, when Masayuki is attacked by Cornu, Jiwu plays a critical diversionary role.

She uses magic to disguise herself as Masayuki, drawing Cornu’s attention away from the real target.
