Tauemon

Tauemon is a large man with a gentle face.

He stands out because of his big size and round body.

He looks strong and scary at first, but his warm smile shows his peaceful nature.

Tauemon is easygoing, polite, and very respectful.

He prefers farming and peaceful work over fighting in battles.

Despite his love for farming, he often messes up because he is not very good with his hands.

He is brave when it comes to protecting his friends or when he sees unfair actions.

His appetite is huge, and he enjoys eating more than anything else.

Tauemon’s full name is Katsura Uemon-no-jou Mizuki-no-Ason Takamori.

People in the story call him Tauemon, a nickname given by the bandit leader, and Tauemon really likes this name.

He was born into a family of warriors, but he always loved working in the fields.

His strict father often scolded him for spending too much time on farming instead of practicing for war.

After running away from battle, Tauemon could not return home and ended up living as a bandit.

Even as a bandit, he wasn’t skilled in fighting.

Eventually, he left the bandits, taking Myrthe and others with him, starting a new adventure.

Tauemon knows a lot about many things, especially farming, even if he is not the best at it.

He is not very good at fighting or using weapons.

His big strength is his willingness to help others and his deep knowledge.

Tauemon is a good friend and ally to Sakuna-hime.

He is one of the only people who truly respects her and speaks to her with humility.

He feels anger toward Ishimaru for being mean and unfair.

He gets the nickname Tauemon from the bandit leader, and he uses this name proudly.

Escape from Battle and Becoming a Bandit

Tauemon grew up on Hinoe Island in a family of samurai.

He loved farming, so he often got in trouble with his strict father.

One day, Tauemon ran away from a battle because he did not like to fight.

Because this was seen as shameful, he could not return home.

With nowhere to go, he joined a group of bandits, even though fighting was not his strength.

Leaving the Bandits

While living with the bandits, Tauemon met Myrthe and other people who were being held as captives.

Tauemon decided to escape with them instead of staying with the bandits.

During this time, he ended up lost and arrived in the world at the top of the mountain.

This event is the beginning of the story in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin.

Tauemon’s full name is long and sounds old-fashioned, but he likes the nickname Tauemon the most.

He is the only person who always bows and shows good manners to Sakuna-hime.

Even though he looks scary, Tauemon has a heart of gold and loves farm work.
