Shisuto Naruse

1st year Class 1 → 2nd year Class 1 → 3rd year Class 4. He considers himself beautiful and is a narcissist. He styles his hair with hair products and is constantly creating a beautiful image of himself by listening to Western music (Justice Beaver). He is confident and possesses a mental strength akin to steel. His catchphrase is "Unbreakable, Unyielding, Unwavering." However, he never looks down on others and accurately assesses and appreciates the good in everyone. He is sociable and easily gets along with classmates like Katai and even delinquent groups he shares a room with during school trips. His academic performance is good. He is lean and muscular but is severely uncoordinated and cannot swim. He also has a major weakness of being very cowardly.

He believes someone as beautiful as Komi is suitable for him and has been trying to get close to her. However, he is constantly thwarted by classmates and almost exchanges phone numbers with her but ultimately fails. Seeing this, Kometani mediates, and he ends up exchanging phone numbers with Tadano instead, becoming friends with him. Since then, he often hangs out with Tadano, Kometani, and Katai as a group.

One night, he receives a confession from Ase during a call, and in a situation where he is pressed for a response, he confesses back, and they start dating. Their relationship began in the summer of their second year when Naruse was rescued from drowning at the beach, and Ase stayed by his side. During a subsequent test of courage, when they were paired together, he expressed his gratitude to her and encouraged her by pointing out her good qualities, as she lacked self-confidence. Since then, there have been moments where they are together during events like the cultural festival, skiing, and school trips, gradually becoming more aware of each other. On the same day Komi and Tadano went on a date for White Day, Naruse and Ase went shopping together and coincidentally met Tadano and the others at the station. Eventually, as they were seen together more often at school, Manbagi became suspicious and questioned Ase, leading to their relationship being revealed to a third party. During a subsequent girls' gathering at the Kato residence, Manbagi, Komi, Kato, Sasaki, and Kiyoshi confirmed the details of the confession. The fact of their relationship was conveyed by Manbagi to Tadano, and when Tadano visited Class 3-4, he revealed it, making it officially recognized by their classmates. In their relationship, Naruse has shown his clumsy side to Ase from the beginning, revealing a pure and innocent side that he doesn't usually show to others, such as blushing. On the other hand, during a summer festival date, he showed his manliness by offering his arm to Ase so they wouldn't get separated. Naruse boasts to his classmates about having kissed Ase, but Ase denies it.

Because he is noisy, he gets hit with a paper fan in the library even if he stays quiet. It's a bit unreasonable. As of Volume 21, he is not on the "Can I make 100 friends?" list, but he was added in Volume 24.
