Ōken was once known for his kind heart and humility.

Following his transformation into an immortal, he lost his reason and self-control, gaining an almost sadistic pleasure in others’ suffering.

Now driven by madness, he reacts with ecstasy in battle and is no longer the man his family once knew.

The son of the former Underworld King Satun, Ōken did not inherit psychic powers like his brothers Desha and Despa.

Nevertheless, his high physical and combat abilities led him to become captain of the Underworld Knights.

At the age of 25, he became immortal, which caused him to lose his sanity and become an infamous sinner jailed deep within the Underworld.

Ōken is completely immortal: he feels no pain and regenerates even from fatal wounds, making him nearly impossible to kill.

In close combat, he wields a sword with masterful skill.

If fighting at a distance, he uses an incredible technique called Shirasampe—by flicking small stones at blinding speed into his target's pressure points, he can paralyze opponents in an instant.

His regeneration makes him a terrifying adversary and a natural enemy to most warriors, especially Bojji.

Desha and Despa are his elder brothers, both highly respected figures in the Underworld.

Though the three siblings were once close, especially due to Ōken's gentle personality, his descent into madness deeply pained his brothers.

Despa, in particular, remains devoted, promising never to abandon him even when Ōken loses all sense of self.

He also becomes entangled with Miranjo, who helps orchestrate his escape in order to utilize his strength.

Ōken’s immortality results from a mysterious condition that not only stops aging and prevents death but also strips away his humanity and sanity.

He acquired the nickname "King of Swords" due to his unparalleled skill and remarkable battle reputation during his days as a knight.

Despite his madness, he is not completely forgotten by his family and remains a tragic figure in their eyes.

The Prisoner of the Underworld

Once revered as the captain of the Underworld Knights, Ōken's life changes forever when immortality seizes his body and mind at age 25.

His insanity and unending violence force the Underworld to imprison him as one of their most feared criminals.

Miranjo, plotting to destroy the Kingdom of Bosse, releases him along with other notorious sinners.

Battle and Imprisonment

Ōken proves a formidable foe—his attacks are lightning fast and lethal.

He faces off against Bojji and others, using Shirasampe to immobilize opponents and fighting remorselessly due to his inability to feel pain.

Despite his regeneration, he confronts Bosse, whose overwhelming strength ultimately seals Ōken inside a boulder.

Release and Redemption

Kingbo shatters the stone, freeing Ōken and then severing his head—yet even beheading cannot destroy him.

As soon as he reattaches his head, Desha, empowered by a wish to a demon, restores Ōken's sanity.

Determined to find the now-amnesiac Desha, Ōken scours the Divine Treasure Vault, but his search is fruitless and he is left behind on the island.
