Despite his malicious personality and foul mouth, he lived in Los Angeles for a year due to his parents' work, where he learned basic conversation skills, making him proficient in languages. However, Kevin noted his accent, and when they conversed, it was translated into a geisha-like tone. Among the Five Virtuosos, he is the only one who calls Gakushu by name without honorifics, acknowledging Gakushu's high abilities and charisma, but he views Gakushu from a slightly detached perspective compared to other main campus students.

He was dating Kaho Tsuchiya from Class C, but after witnessing him and Araki kicking around Maehara, who was also dating her, Koro-sensei and the E Class students retaliated, causing him great embarrassment. Ultimately, he had a fierce argument with her, leading to their breakup. However, in the TV anime version, the episode involving Tsuchiya is omitted, so he does not appear until the episode about the first semester final exams.

While studying for the final exams, he tangled with E Class members in the library but was overtaken by Nakamura in the English test, ranking 3rd in the grade. He failed to maintain a top 10 position in the second semester final exams, significantly dropping in performance.
