She is a second-year student in the Passenger Transport Department and a classmate of Naoto Takayama. As a railway recording enthusiast, she travels across the country carrying a pink IC recorder. She aims to become an attendant and is receiving on-the-job training at JAPAN Dining Car, where she has already received a job offer. In volume 2, she gets involved in an incident as a dining car attendant on the Hokutosei No.3, and her rescue by Shō Iwaizumi leaves a strong impression. Afterward, through Naoto Takayama’s introduction, she starts spending more private time with Shō Iwaizumi.
She had previously been in regular contact with Naoto Takayama, but recently the frequency has decreased. She became close friends with Haruka Kōmi through Naoto Takayama, but even during trips remained distant from Aoi Sakurai. Later, their relationship develops further in volume 10 during the "Linear Incident." In volume 14, she also takes on the role of the armed group leader during a riot suppression training exercise.
In the anime adaptation, she is depicted as being well-versed in information about Naoto Takayama, causing jealousy among the other female characters. She herself harbors feelings for Naoto Takayama and is positioned as the third heroine. Also, her interactions with Shō Iwaizumi are limited, and after the Bernina incident near the end of the story, she is hardly involved with him at all.
