Akira Tendo

The protagonist of this work. 24 years old. Height 170 centimeters. He had been overworked at a black production company that forced him to do unpaid overtime for days without being able to go home since his first day of employment, leading to depression due to the lack of a humane lifestyle.

However, one morning, upon seeing the city overflowing with zombies, instead of feeling fear, he rejoiced at the thought, "I don't have to go to work from today!" and regained his positive personality by becoming free. He started taking actions that seemed unthinkable during a pandemic, such as confessing his feelings to Ootori, whom he had liked since joining the company.

Later, he witnessed the apartment of the Kosaka couple, Mikio and Sumire, who lived in the same building as Akira, being ravaged by zombies. This made him realize, "The time to do what I want is too short," and he created a list of "100 things to do before becoming a zombie." Unlike his time as a company employee, he began to live prioritizing his own goals.

When creating the list, he added three things he truly wanted to do: "Spend time with my parents at home," "Drink and party with my best friend until morning," and "Meet the love of my life." He first reunited with his best friend Kencho, with whom he spent four years in the university rugby club. Later, he joined forces with Shizuka and Beatrix, and together they began to achieve the items on their list.

In episode 9, he became so weakened that his mind went blank upon reuniting with his former boss, Kosugi, from his company days. He thought, "I should repay the leader's kindness" and "I should keep working for that," and for a moment, he considered working under Kosugi again. However, after being scolded by Shizuka, he woke up, clearly conveyed his opinions to Kosugi, and overcame his past trauma.

When he returned to his family home in Gunma Prefecture, he learned that his father was suffering from hemorrhoids. To find a doctor who could perform surgery on his father and a researcher who could create a vaccine to counter the pandemic, he set out on a journey around Japan with Kencho and the others.
