Gonzou Kosugi

Akira's boss during his time as a company employee. He is 42 years old. A typical power-harassing superior, he frequently changes his instructions, never admits his mistakes, and doesn't allow his subordinates to leave work before him. He views his subordinates, including Akira, as "replaceable parts."

He seems to have a hobby of playing amateur baseball and was part of a team named "COSGIES" in his private life.

Even after the pandemic outbreak, he stubbornly survived and lived with his amateur baseball team members at a highway service area. They caused accidents by placing spike belts on the road and exploited the injured refugees as slaves in exchange for medical treatment. When Kencho was injured by one of these traps, Akira was forced to work for two days to get him treated. The boss tried to permanently enslave Akira using brainwashing tactics, but Akira, encouraged by Shizuka's scolding, rejected him. The boss warned them, "People like you will eventually be attacked by zombies," but soon after, he fled in fear when zombies infiltrated due to a subordinate's mistake. Surrounded by zombies and in a desperate situation, he was saved by Akira and had a change of heart. However, having fled alone, he was abandoned by his comrades and the refugees. When he sought help from Akira again, he was completely ignored and left alone at the service area.
