Phoenix

The Phoenix is a creature summoned by Viola and is the oldest character in the story. Its appearance is simple, just recognizable as a bird, but it has also been described as "a doodle."

Its first-person pronoun is "I." The Phoenix can create rain clouds and share useful stories, but it often causes bizarre phenomena, such as stretching its neck to great lengths or taking unpredictable actions. Despite its abilities, it is actually timid, and sudden events can make it jump in surprise—Alyssa even thinks it seems "like a cat."

As a Phoenix, it neither ages nor falls ill. However, if its summoner Viola becomes unwell, the Phoenix is affected and also falls into poor health. Because it is immortal, it has no hesitation in harming itself; for example, if Viola is sick, it will try to give her its blood, even going so far as to take out a knife or attempt to boil itself in a pot to make a medicinal broth.
