Sakura has short brown hair and often wears cute hair accessories.

In the anime, she almost always wears her hair in the same way, but in the original comic, she sometimes changes the style and does braids.

Her favorite colors are pink and white.

She likes the cherry blossom flower.

When at home, she usually wears hamster-shaped slippers, though in the Clear Card arc, she switches to regular slippers.

She is famous for wearing a variety of adorable costumes during battles, all made by her best friend Tomoyo Daidouji.

Her school uniforms change as she moves from elementary to middle school.

She often carried a cute school bag and in the Clear Card arc, she also uses a smartphone.

Sakura is bright, honest, and always optimistic.

She cares deeply for her friends and will cry for others’ troubles.

She does not like scary things or ghosts and reacts with panic, especially if she doesn’t know what is happening.

But when she learns something is caused by a Clow Card, she becomes brave.

Sakura lives with her father, Fujitaka Kinomoto, and her older brother, Touya Kinomoto.

Her mother, Nadeshiko Kinomoto, passed away when Sakura was three years old.

She is very close to her cousin Tomoyo Daidouji, who is also her best friend.

At first, Sakura did not know Tomoyo was her cousin until their parents met again at a school event.

She joined the cheerleading club with her friend Chiharu Mihara.

Sakura loves physical activities and sports like baton twirling, rollerblading, track and field, gymnastics, and swimming.

She is good at housework, especially cooking, and her specialty is making pancakes.

Sakura was chosen as a Cardcaptor when she opened the mysterious Clow Card book and met Keroberos.

Only someone with magical power could open the book.

Using the Sealing Wand at first, she could capture and use the Clow Cards.

Later, she changed the wand into the Star Wand, which matches her own magic, and started to change the Clow Cards to Sakura Cards.

By the end, her magic grows so strong she surpasses Clow Reed, the original creator of the cards.

Even without magic, her physical skills are amazing, and she often uses rollerblades to go to school or rush to collect cards.

Sakura does not use transformation magic; her costumes are all hand-made by Tomoyo.

Family

Sakura’s father is Fujitaka Kinomoto, a kind teacher.

Her brother is Touya Kinomoto, who likes teasing her but also cares deeply for her.

Sakura cannot see her mother’s spirit, but Touya can.

She sometimes struggles with the sadness of losing her mother.

Friends

Tomoyo Daidouji is her best friend and cousin.

Cardcaptor Sakura Arc

Sakura discovers the Clow Card book and accidentally releases the magical cards.

She is chosen by Keroberos to gather all the cards or disaster will come.

With help from her friends and family, she collects the cards while growing stronger.

She faces the Final Judgment against Yue, transforms her magic wand into the Star Wand, and starts changing the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards.

Sakura Card Arc

Strange things begin happening in Tomoeda.

With the help of the Star Wand, Sakura works hard to change all Clow Cards into Sakura Cards, but her magic is at first not strong enough, making her tired and sleepy.

When she finishes, her magic becomes even greater than Clow Reed’s.

Clear Card Arc

Now in her first year of middle school, Sakura has a mysterious dream on her first day, seeing her cards become clear and powerless.

She then gets a new magical key and begins gathering new clear cards in Tomoeda.

Her magic grows stronger with each adventure, and she uses a smartphone to communicate with her friends.

Collaborations

In “Granblue Fantasy,” Sakura and her friends are taken from Tomoeda to another world where Sakura becomes a playable character with the element of light.

In “Puyo Puyo!! Quest,” Sakura and her friends arrive in Primp Town, leading to new magical adventures and special event cards.

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle

Sakura appears in volume 27 as a middle school student and gives the Star Wand to Syaoran’s mother.

Even without her wand, she is still the master of the cards.
