Character Introduction

Edit
A junior high school girl who was wrapped and bitten by snakes. She first appeared in "Nadeko Snake." She is the main character in "Nadeko Snake," "Nadeko Medusa," "Hitagi End," "Koyomi Wind," "Nadeko Draw," "Mayoi Snake," and "Yotsugi Shadow." She was a classmate of Tsukihi during elementary school and attended the same middle school Koyomi graduated from. She refers to herself as "Nadeko" and calls Koyomi "Koyomi-oniichan" (both terms used before she became human again, after which she refers to herself as "I" and calls Koyomi "Koyomi-san"). Height: 153 cm. Birthday: June 3 (Gemini). Blood type: B.
Koyomi used to visit the Araragi household with Tsukihi during his elementary school days, but they grew distant after he entered middle school. However, one day, after rejecting a male student who approached her, she was cursed with a "snake cutting rope" but managed to avoid any issues by reuniting with Koyomi.
She is sensitive to people's gazes, dislikes being seen or touched, and feels a strong resistance to sensing someone's body heat, yet she remains unfazed even when her skirt is pinched. She is taciturn but laughs easily. She loves manga, anime, and games, often throwing out niche jokes that Koyomi has to explain. She describes her athletic abilities as "normally clumsy," but she can run away at speeds comparable to Suruga when she might get involved with strangers. She dislikes "trying hard" and "difficult things," often resolving issues by saying, "It's okay as long as I'm the one getting scolded." She was the class president and was forced by her teacher to resolve a situation where her classmates continued to quarrel due to a "charm" from Dorifune.
She is shy and cowardly, appearing humble and diligent at first glance, but this is due to her complete indifference towards others, trusting no one (according to Dorifune, "not just a dark heart, but a heart of darkness"). Meme also noticed this, and while he cared for her like he did Tsubasa, he remained wary. Her actual personality is fundamentally childish and selfish. She feels stressed by being forced to act cute, and when her emotions explode, her tone and attitude become aggressive. In "Karen Bee," she tried various methods to get closer to Koyomi, earning her the nickname "final boss" from Suruga. However, her feelings for Koyomi were self-contained, as she wanted to keep her unrequited love forever. She had never met Koyomi's girlfriend Hitagi, but upon seeing them together by chance, she intuitively understood they were dating. In "Nadeko Medusa," learning about Koyomi and Hitagi's relationship caused her mental breakdown, and she prayed to the god of the North White Snake Shrine to kill Hitagi. Based on information from Ougi, she searched for the god's talisman at the shrine, was criticized for her human naivety by Oshino and Tsukihi, and the next day, overwhelmed by stress, she lashed out at her teacher and classmates. She fled the school, found the talisman at Koyomi's house, and unable to bear the reality of her unrequited love and her own contradictions, she transformed into a snake god despite Koyomi's attempts to stop her. Her hair turned into snakes, and she nearly killed Koyomi and Oshino but negotiated with Hitagi to postpone this until graduation day.
After becoming a god, she lived in the shrine, turning away Koyomi who came to persuade or defeat her, but in "Hitagi End," she was persuaded by Dorifune, hired by Hitagi, to return to being human. The talisman inside her was removed by Dorifune, and her hair returned to normal. After a period of hospitalization, she was discharged at the start of "Yotsugi Doll." Later, she changed her hairstyle to a very short cut, began pursuing a career as a manga artist with Tsukihi's help, and debuted under the pen name "Nadeko Sengoku (Nadeshiko)" in "Musubimonogatari," currently serializing her third work. According to Ougi, "She's not very popular, but she has a cult following for being cute yet dark." Her talent as a shikigami user was revealed in "Tsukihi Undo" and "Nadeko Draw," leading to connections with Izuko through Yotsugi, involving her with oddities unrelated to Koyomi, and she took on her first job in "Yotsugi Shadow."
