MONOGATARI Series: OFF & MONSTER Season is a Japanese web anime based on Nisio Isin’s light novel series Monogatari, adapting stories from the Off Season and Monster Season arcs.
The anime was announced in January 2024 as a “restart” of the Monogatari anime project, with Shaft returning as the animation studio.
It adapts material from Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari from the Off Season.
It also draws from the Monster Season novels Shinobumonogatari, Yoimonogatari, Amarimonogatari, Ougimonogatari, and Shinomonogatari.
The series streamed from July 6 to October 19, 2024, mainly through ABEMA and other platforms.
A television version aired from September 29 to December 29, 2024, with some edits made to fit the 30-minute broadcast format.
A new episode was announced as being in production in July 2025.
Like Monogatari Series Second Season, this adaptation does not strictly follow the publication order of the novels.
The anime was produced by Shaft, with Akiyuki Shinbo serving as chief director.
Midori Yoshizawa directed the series, while Fuyashi Tou and Akiyuki Shinbo handled series composition.
The screenplay was written by Miku Oshima.
