Together, they plot to kidnap Hiyori Iki and lure Yato to Takamagahara, hoping to trick Yato into killing Bishamonten.
Because the name "Kugaha" is not fully effective in controlling him, people begin to suspect he may have another master, but there is no clear evidence at first.
Later, it is revealed that Kugaha was once a shinki for Father, serving under the name "Edachi."
Betrayal and Downfall
During a fight, Kugaha uses a group of weak shinki disguised with youkai masks, who end up being killed in the process. Bishamonten learns of his betrayal and releases his name, causing Kugaha to fall to the lower world.
Return and Defeat
Kugaha later confronts Hiyori Iki and Yukine as they search for Yato in Yomi. He tries to confuse and overpower Yukine, who is unable to use his powers because he cannot remember Kugaha's true name. However, Kugaha is ultimately defeated.
After being defeated, he is restrained by Tenjin, who gives him a new name, "Saku", and makes him one of his shinki. Using spiritual rituals, Kazuma discovers that Kugaha once served as Father's shinki.
