Mondo is a young Forest Oni and the teacher of Aqua and Eris.
Possessed by Shiki
At one point, Mondo was possessed by a lich, who would later become Shiki.
Because of this possession, he gained a special power that was thought to be lost among the Forest Oni.
The Tree Curse
This power is called "Tree Punishment," a curse that turns the target into a tree.
Before this, no one among the Forest Oni had been able to use this ability for a long time.
The possession made Mondo able to awaken and use the Tree Punishment curse.
