Astaroth is the Demon King of Melancholy and the second of the heterodox sins, a gloomy yet devoted female demon whose unwavering loyalty to Belial sets her apart from the other rulers of sin.
Astaroth has a dark, introverted personality and carries herself with a heavy, melancholic air.
Even so, she is defined most clearly by her intense and steadfast loyalty to Belial.
She once operated out of a cramped apartment room in the human world, where she pursued idol activities while gathering followers.
At times, her speech shifts into a rhythm that resembles rap, giving her an unexpectedly distinctive style.
Astaroth is gloomy and somewhat withdrawn, which matches her title as the Demon King of Melancholy.
Beneath that somber exterior, however, she is sincere and deeply committed to the one she serves.
Her greatest trait is loyalty.
While other Demon Kings of the deadly sins abandoned Belial when Lucifer invaded Hell, Astaroth alone continued to follow her.
From her small apartment, Astaroth tried to build herself up as an idol while also recruiting believers.
Her activities were modest, but they reflected her strange charm and persistence.
Because she is vulnerable to pressure, she has a major weakness: she becomes unable to sing in front of an audience.
As a result, her idol work never developed into full live performances and remained mostly limited to distributing videos of herself singing.
Astaroth took part in a live showdown, where she ultimately admitted defeat.
Even then, she appeared oddly satisfied, telling her opponent that the next time they met, they would be enemies.
Later, she fought Leviathan in battle.
The clash was interrupted when she was frozen by Cocytus, and both she and Leviathan were captured.
Following her exile, Astaroth returned to the human world.
She then began living an ordinary, down-to-earth shared life with Belial in her apartment.
This mundane apartment life sharply contrasts with her status as a Demon King.
That gap between demonic grandeur and humble daily living is part of what makes her so memorable.
