Lucifer is the Demon Lord of Pride, a fallen former angel in Seven Mortal Sins who rises to the summit of Hell after battling the other deadly sins and confronting Michael herself.
Lucifer is the first of the Seven Deadly Sins and the ruler associated with Pride.
Once an angel, she was cast down to Hell because of the sin of pride and was reborn as a Demon Lord after fighting through the great sins.
She carries herself with the arrogance one would expect from Pride.
At the same time, her long life in Heaven left her somewhat naive, inexperienced in worldly matters, and unexpectedly innocent.
Despite her haughty attitude, Lucifer is fundamentally sincere and passionate.
Because of her angelic origins, she dislikes crooked methods and retains a strong, earnest sense of principle.
Lucifer is bold, overbearing, and openly defiant.
She speaks and acts with immense confidence, rarely hiding her sense of superiority.
That said, she also has a surprisingly soft and unpolished side.
Her lack of practical knowledge sometimes makes her seem sheltered, even vulnerable.
She is also less guarded than her status might suggest.
This weakness becomes especially notable when Belial, disguised as a female doctor, tricks her into taking a suppository-shaped sleeping drug under the pretense that it is pain relief for stomach pain.
Fall from Heaven and Rebirth
Lucifer was originally an angel.
After falling into Hell through the sin of pride, she fought the other great sins and was reborn as a Demon Lord.
At the time of her reincarnation as a Demon Lord, she broke the seven curses that Belial had placed upon her.
By regaining her full power, she resumed her struggle in pursuit of a certain purpose.
Maria Totsuka and the Stolen Heart
After reuniting with Maria Totsuka, who had been entrusted with Lucifer’s angelic blood, Lucifer took Maria’s heart.
This act became one of the major turning points in her story.
Later, Lucifer was outmaneuvered by Belial.
While deeply asleep from the drug that had been administered rectally, she suffered the humiliation of having Maria’s heart stolen from her chest.
Rise to the Throne
After Belial lost the position of chief ruler, Lucifer gained the support of the other deadly sins.
She then became the new leader and stood at the pinnacle of the Demon Lords.
When Michael appeared to annihilate Hell, Lucifer faced her in a fierce battle.
The conflict escalated through the sacrifices of the other deadly sins and ultimately moved to the surface world.
Death and Resurrection
In her one-on-one duel with Michael on Earth, Lucifer was pierced through the body by Michael’s spear and died once.
Her defeat seemed final.
However, Maria Totsuka, praying for Lucifer’s revival, offered herself as a sacrifice and pierced her own chest.
Lucifer absorbed the angelic blood overflowing from Maria’s body and returned to life.
Having experienced Heaven, Hell, and the human world, Lucifer revived in an overwhelming form after absorbing Maria’s body.
In this state, she became an invincible being and completely overpowered Michael.
Even so, she chose not to kill Michael.
Instead, she let her go and declared war on the Seven Heavenly Virtues.
Lucifer’s strength is rooted in both demonic power and her lingering angelic nature.
Her restoration after breaking Belial’s seven curses marked the return of her true might.
Her resurrection elevated her beyond her previous state.
By combining the experiences of the three realms and absorbing Maria’s body, she attained a nearly unmatched level of power.
One of the most striking miracles associated with Lucifer comes after Maria’s loss.
The tears of blood she shed in grief were revealed to be the tiny remnants of angelic blood still left within her.
That blood brought about a miracle.
It regenerated Maria’s body in a naked state, demonstrating that Lucifer’s angelic essence had not fully vanished.
Maria Totsuka
Maria Totsuka is one of the most important figures in Lucifer’s story.
Lucifer entrusted her angelic blood to Maria and later reunited with her under tragic circumstances.
Their bond grows through the conflict with the Demon Lords.
At one point, Lucifer acknowledges Maria as a friend and even allows her to address her without honorific distance, a notable sign of trust and closeness.
Maria ultimately becomes central to Lucifer’s death and rebirth.
Her sacrifice directly enables Lucifer’s resurrection and later the miracle of her own restored body.
Belial
Lucifer’s relationship with Belial is defined by curses, rivalry, and betrayal.
Belial once sealed Lucifer with seven curses, which Lucifer later broke upon reclaiming her power.
Belial also exploits Lucifer’s weak caution in a particularly humiliating incident.
By deceiving her with a false medicine, Belial leaves Lucifer unconscious and steals Maria’s heart from her.
Michael
Michael stands as one of Lucifer’s greatest opponents.
Their clash is a defining battle, with Michael invading Hell and pushing the conflict to its most destructive stage.
Although Lucifer is once killed by Michael’s spear, she later returns and surpasses her enemy completely.
Even in victory, she spares Michael and turns her ambition toward a larger war against the Seven Heavenly Virtues.
