Introduction

Edit
Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Pillar, uses "Breath of Wind" and is 21 years old. He is the older brother of Genya Shinazugawa. Sanemi is a young man with short white hair and scars all over his body. He is known for his extremely rough and harsh behavior, and among the Pillars, his hatred and hostility towards demons are exceptionally strong. However, he speaks very politely to Yoriichi, and when he witnessed Masao Maeda's sexual harassment, he became furious, scolding him to the point of causing him to wet himself, showing that he is a person of manners and justice. He wears an open-front uniform. His Nichirin Sword has a green blade, and its hilt features a tsuba that resembles a windmill.
Among the Pillars, he is the strongest in denying the existence of Nezuko Kamado, trying to draw out the demon's true nature by injuring himself and showing blood. However, because Nezuko maintained her rationality, it officially proved that she does not attack humans.
He has a rare type of blood that intoxicates demons with its scent. He is also experienced in combat, able to respond to the techniques of Kokushibo, who swiftly defeated Muichiro.
Sanemi's demon-transformed mother killed his siblings, and to protect the only surviving Genya, he fought his mother until dawn and ended up killing her. The large scar on his face is from that time. However, the surviving Genya, confused by their mother's death, called Sanemi a murderer. Later, Sanemi continued to fight recklessly against demons until dawn using his rare blood and brute force, until he met Kuzeno Mikoto and learned about the Demon Slayer Corps, and was introduced to a trainer and joined the corps. After defeating the former Lower Moon One, he became a Pillar, but lost the greatly indebted Kuzeno during the process. Until he met him, he resented Yoriichi for only giving orders and not standing on the front lines, but was shocked to learn that Yoriichi remembered the names of all the deceased Demon Slayer Corps members, which changed his perspective.
Towards Genya, who joined the Demon Slayer Corps chasing after him, Sanemi coldly pushed him away saying, "I have no brother," out of a desire for Genya to be happy for their deceased mother and siblings. Later, he tried to force Genya to leave the Demon Slayer Corps due to his lack of talent and became furious when he learned that Genya was fighting by consuming demons, even attempting to blind him. This led to a brawl with Tanjiro Kamado, resulting in a restraining order against him. He also disliked Giyu Tomioka for his behavior and unwillingness to cooperate with other Pillars.
In the Infinity Castle, he saved Genya from being killed by Upper Moon One, Kokushibo, and after expressing his true intentions, confronted Kokushibo. Despite intoxicating him with the scent of his rare blood, he was unable to dull Kokushibo's sword skills and was cornered until he was rescued by Himejima. With the desperate support of Muichiro and Genya, he managed to defeat Kokushibo but parted ways with Genya in death. He survived the final battle against Muzan along with Giyu, and after the battle, he apologized to Nezuko for his past rudeness and gently stroked her head, reminded of Genya by her pure and kind smile and her fondness for sleeping.
In the novel "Path of the Wind," he is depicted as the protagonist.
